Understanding My Work Habits

If there was one thing to take away from my psychology classes, it's that human behavior is patterned! So when my boss at Amazon came to me and asked if I wanted to take the NeuroColor Temperament Inventory test and learn more about my work habits, my answer was yes, please! I got my results back and really enjoyed reading through them. There was a section labeled “What others should know about how Lillian works” so I thought I would share that section here.
“
• She values broad thinking and optimism; if you identify a problem, suggest a solution.
• She can shift gears easily; she values agility as much as preparation.
• Open up a little; Lillian wants connection to the people with whom she works.
• She senses whether you are truly interested in her opinion - or just waiting for your turn to talk.
• She's more interested in what you think of her ideas than what you think of her.
• She is able to quickly discern key data and issues.
• Lillian understands that plans can change but she likes to have a solid plan in place - with details mapped out in advance.
• She prefers to know only the highlights of processes, procedures and structure.
”
I’ll be honest, these details didn’t surprise me but they also weren’t work habits that I reflect on often. This was a good opportunity for me to see how others might perceive my habits and how I can be mindful of other’s working habits.
If you want to learn more about your habits then I highly suggest giving neurocolor.com a visit and signing up for an assessment!
